Friday song title list no. 15: Songs with trains in the title

Including song titles that mention types of trains, parts of trains, and the names of trains, e.g. subway, toy, whistle, locomotive, Wabash Cannonball, etc. I have also included “rail” songs, but not songs with train people (engineers, hobos, etc.). Whenever I found information about more than one cover of a song, I have included all the different artists. There are probably thousands of existant train songs in English alone, so I decided not to try to be exhaustive, but here are some links to more train songs:

  1. Trains are an easy subject to find song titles for, so this got to be a long list and could have been much longer.

When I make these lists I begin with my own music collection, the go to the archives for a music related forum I used to participate in where we played a game of naming as many song titles as we could remember about certain subjects, and finally I search the internet for likely keywords. Websites with lyrics are a good source, as is the Gracenote database, and sometimes I find other lists that provide me with some material.
